Injection and grouting covers a family of techniques used to seal cracks, restore structural continuity, stop water ingress, fill voids and stabilise loose or degraded elements. The right technique and material depends on the structure, the defect, the environment and the required outcome. Resin injection for structural crack repair. Cementitious grouting for void filling and non-shrink structural anchoring. Water-reactive polyurethane grouts for stopping active leaks. Each has its place.

Materials are selected from approved system suppliers including Sika, Weber and Mapei. The correct material for each application is a technical decision, not a default one. Resin viscosity, cure characteristics, water reactivity, structural strength and long-term durability all factor into the specification. Where the substrate is wet, hydro-reactive systems are used. Where structural bond is required, load-transferring resins are specified. Where the void geometry is complex, low-viscosity grouts are chosen for full penetration.

Injection work is quality-critical. Injection pressure, packer placement, sequencing, and verification of penetration all determine whether the treatment works or fails. CRS delivers every injection scheme to a written method statement with quality holds and, where required, verification testing.

On-site inspection, crack measurement and mapping, assessment of active water ingress or movement, and identification of the underlying cause. We confirm whether injection is the right technique before it is specified.

2. Specify & Cost

A written specification setting out the material selection, injection methodology, packer placement, pressure regime and verification requirements. Costed against a defensible bill of quantities.

3. Mobilise & Deliver

Site setup, access provision, crack preparation, packer installation, injection to specification and quality verification. Sequencing planned to ensure full penetration and effective treatment.

4. Protect & Hand Over

Frequently asked questions

Resin injection uses polymer resins (typically epoxy, polyurethane or methacrylate) that cure chemically after injection. It is used for fine cracks, waterproofing, and load-transferring structural repair. Cementitious grouting uses cement-based grouts that set through hydration, suitable for larger voids, baseplates, structural anchoring and applications requiring cementitious compatibility with the surrounding concrete. Each has technical characteristics that suit different applications, and the specification determines which is right for the job.

Yes. Polyurethane and acrylic gel injection systems are specifically designed to stop active water ingress through cracks, joints and porous concrete. Water-reactive polyurethanes expand on contact with water to fill the leak path and cure into a flexible seal. Injection is delivered to a defined pressure regime with packer placement and sequencing planned to ensure full penetration. Long-term performance depends on correct material selection and application to specification.

Crack injection is the right answer when the crack is dormant (no ongoing movement), when the underlying cause has been addressed or is understood, and when the specification requires restored bond or sealing across the crack face. It is not the right answer when the crack is caused by ongoing structural movement that has not been resolved, when the surrounding concrete is failing for another reason, or when the crack width and depth exceed what injection can effectively treat. Diagnosis before specification is essential.

A correctly specified and installed injection repair typically lasts the remaining service life of the surrounding concrete, provided the underlying cause of cracking has been addressed. Polyurethane waterproofing injection is designed for long-term flexibility to accommodate small ongoing movement. Structural epoxy injection restores permanent load-transferring bond. Where the cause of the original cracking has not been addressed, or where the material choice is wrong for the application, injection repairs can fail quickly. This is why the diagnosis and specification stages matter.

Yes. CRS can be appointed as Principal Contractor on schemes where required, with full CDM 2015 compliance. On projects where a different Principal Contractor is appointed, we work as their specialist sub-contractor and provide the technical and safety documentation their role requires.
