Project overview
Concrete Repair Solutions were appointed by the Design Museum on Kensington High Street, London, to repair areas of deteriorating concrete on the building’s external elevations.
Concrete on the façade and roof edges had started to crack and spall as the reinforcement beneath began to corrode. Our team removed the defective concrete, protected the steel, and rebuilt each area by hand to match the original concrete as closely as possible.
With the museum open to visitors throughout, the works were carefully planned around its day-to-day operation.
